GIRARD WATER DEPARTMENT

Jerome Lambert, Director of Public Services

PURPOSE: to supply customers in our system with water service.

SUPPLY: Girard's water source is the Meander Reservoir. We purchase our water from Youngstown, Niles and McDonald. We service all customers in Girard, and parts of Liberty Township and Weathersfield. Currently we have a total of 5,837 customers in our system.

DEPARTMENT STAFF: The Director of Public Services oversees the water department. The staff consists of an office manager (Laura Hart), two clerks and a serviceman. There is also a water foreman (Jimmy Stacchiotti) and four employees who are in charge of the outside maintenance and service. The Ohio Revised Code and Girard City Ordinances provide the framework for the department's operations.

BILLING: This process is bi-monthly. The bill consists of water and sewage charges. The sewage rates are based on water consumption. A deposit is charged to all customers moving into the system or transferring in the system. They must come into the office to sign for water service.

OFFICE HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:00 There is a night deposit box located on the department outside window on Market Street for their convenience.
